We have been in the African art and jewellery industry for over 40 years, now expanding from our mining ancestors to exhibiting and retailing, direct from source.
African Galleria has an in-house lapidary, where stones are cut and polished. Each stone is graded and catalogued, with its own fingerprint/certification. All our gems come with certified authenticity. We trade in the following precious, semi precious stones and garnets:
Tanzanite – an extraordinary stone that occurs in only one place worldwide – Tanzania
Tsavorite - an exquisite, hard stone, only found in Tsavo, Kenya and limited mines in Tanzania
Rubies – Tanzania’s rubies bring top prices in the wholesale trade and at auction, but are more competitively priced at African Galleria.
Blue Turquoise - sky-blue natural turquoise, delicate and stunning
Quartz – see our spectacular samples extracted from the earth’s crust. Either cut & polished or left as table pieces cocooned in its rock-hard casing.
Amethyst – a pale lilac or deep reddish purple gemstone full of warmth and vibrancy – it is the world’s most sought after quartz.
Tiger Eye – golden to red-brown in colour with a silky lustre, resembling the pupil of a tiger or African lion!
Malachite – is often referred to as the Peacock Stone.

All our products are sourced and commissioned from communities and villages far and near. Targeting authentic, exceptional works of art is our pledge and dedicated style.
In some instances we restore pieces, however all antiques are officially certified as original. Also amongst our exhibits, are antique/rare pieces dating back to the age of true adventure.
Rare pieces made from Ebony & Rosewood meet all forestry regulations and are only sourced from authentic organisations, adhering to a moral green code.
We have almost eliminated the use of plastic bags and are committed to lessening our carbon footprint.
Our spacious gallery and lighting amplifies the exhibits’ quality and character, designed in a way that allows you to walk easily amongst the displays – with space to observe.
Skilled staff will accompany you with a basket for your purchases if you so wish, or meander freely at your own pace, absorbing the creativity.
African Galleria encompasses the essence of Tanzania, its people, cultures and traditions – in a visual journey within our walls!
